VANCOUVER CANUCKS: GLOBAL OUTPOST

    1. CANUCKS GM MIKE GILLIS AGREES TO CONTRACT EXTENSION

    2. KESLER HAS SUCCESSFUL SHOULDER SURGERY

    3. trevorlinden:

Over the past six seasons, Roberto Luongo has played a total of 447 regular and post-season games as a Canuck, and of that, has won 256 of them. He has set regular-season franchise records for most wins and shut-outs. He’s been the Captain and arguably the best starting goaltender the Canucks have had. But most importantly, he’s always been one of the most hardworking on the rink, and has been a class-act, even when faced with the harshest of criticism. Roberto Luongo has done much more for this organization than this city gives him credit for, and he deserves to know that he’s truly loved and appreciated by fans.

    4. ROBERTO LUONGO'S FINAL CHAPTER IN VANCOUVER? IF IT IS, IT WAS A MEMORABLE ENDING!

    5.
I think it’s going to be what’s best for the team. Whatever that scenario is.. I’m okay with it. Whether that involves me being here or not, is ok. I think we’ve got a lot of potential in this locker room: there’s a great core of guys, and a chance to do something special.

    6. Scott Oake: A couple of times during the three-day break, Alain Vigneault reference the fact that Daniel Sedin makes you a whole lot better player. He says you become an elite player. Do you agree with that?
Henrik Sedin: I thought it was the other way around.

    7. ARE THE CANUCKS THE NEW SAN JOSE SHARKS?

    8. trevorlinden:

The loss of 4 games can’t overpower the likes of an 111-point, Presidents’ Trophy winning season. Thank you for another great year, 2011-‘12 Canucks!

    9. SERIES 1: GAME 5: CANUCKS 1 - KINGS 2
Jarret Stoll scored 4:27 into overtime as the Los Angeles Kings came back to beat the Vancouver Canucks 2-1 in the fifth game of the Western Conference quarter-final series Sunday night. The underdog Kings took the best-of-seven series 4-1, spoiling Vancouver’s hopes of a return to the Stanley Cup final.  Los Angeles completed a major upset after finishing eighth in the regular season while the Canucks placed first in the Western Conference and overall for the second season in a row. “To be honest, it doesn’t matter if you lose the seventh game of the finals or you lose in five in the first round, it’s devastating,” said Daniel Sedin. “We have the mind set to win every year. When you end up on the losing side it’s tough.” Brad Richardson also scored for the Kings, who trailed 1-0 after 40 minutes. Richardson tied it up 3:21 into the third period. Goalie Jonathan Quick made 26 saves to earn the win. Henrik Sedin scored the lone Canucks goal, while Schneider stopped 35 shots. [SOURCE: SportsNet]
